Day 4

Welcome to our daily blog post!

It was Tuesday, March 10th, 2020 and so the fourth day in Galway. At 9:30 we met our classmates and started our classes at the Atlantic language school. There we did a quiz together and made a trailer. It was really entertaining and exciting because we also created some costumes ourselves. Alexandra, for example, played a Hippie and Leonie turned into Marcel Hirscher. In general, the lessons with the native teacher were very interesting, diverse and informative. We got different worksheets and also some helpful tips for the First Certificate. Priority was given to speaking skills. So, we talked about different topics like Irish culture, Irish food, and the beautiful music of Ireland.

After school we went into the city at 1 pm and went shopping, of course. We had a lot of fun with our friends and also met some classmates because the city is not that large. We spent a lot of time in the city, but it was actually difficult to find shops that we liked because there were far more souvenir shops than “normal” ones.

Two hours later we took the bus back home to our host family, where we freshened up and stayed there for two hours. There we also played with Hollie, a 15-month old little girl, the daughter of our host parents. They were very friendly, kind and totally easy and pleasant to be with, the house was very appealing and clean. The first night we had had to stay with another host family and there the people were nice as well, but the house and especially our room was really dirty, and we did not feel comfortable at all. That´s why we were very lucky to be moved to another host family.
At 6 pm we had dinner with our friends in the city in a very good restaurant called “The Dough Bros” where we ate the best pizza of our lives.

A bit later we met our class in front of the language school because we took part in an Irish Dance Workshop. There we danced, laughed and had a lot of fun. Our teacher also explained some techniques, told some background stories about dance in Ireland and showed us her skills-amazing!

Another really great day had come to an end and we were already looking forward to the next one!                                                                                          @Eva und Leonie , 6bi
